Bringing a Community Arts Centre back to life

Cross Corners is a Community Arts Centre, which is part of Mellor Primary School.
When we were invited to help develop its future, circumstance had caused it to become unused and unloved. So we were commissioned to help bring it back to life.
We developed a model in which community groups rent space on an hourly basis whilst other areas have become studios for artists who pay a reduced rental in return for the provision of workshops for Mellor School.
The model worked well and it became a vibrant space once again, delivering economic viability and establishing its place at the creative heart of its community.
